Traditionally, the development camp has focused on giving athletes the opportunity to experience a wide range of events, finishing with a competition on the final day.
This year, we are introducing a more targeted camp experience. Athletes will be able to nominate an event group – Sprints/Hurdles, Throws, Jumps, Distance, Walks, or Combined Event, with practical sessions specifically tailored to their chosen discipline, and delivered by nationally accredited coaches.
In addition to the training component, the camp will include interactive educational sessions designed to support athlete development. These will cover key areas such as recovery, nutrition, and strength & conditioning.
Replacing the traditional competition day will be a trip to the Penguin track for a dedicated training session and the opportunity to experience handicapped racing at the Central Coast Carnival.
Camp also provides social opportunities as participants interact with athletes from across the state in a team focused environment.
