Call for Nominations
Little Athletics Tasmania (LATas) is governed by a Board of six elected Directors, with the option to appoint an additional two directors if deemed necessary.
Currently, Little Athletics Tasmania has the ability to appoint one person to a Casual Vacancy (term 3 years) and up to two people to Appointed positions (term 1 year).
The LATas Board is required to meet at least eight times per year, either in person or via video conference. The majority of Little Athletics Tasmania business is conducted either at these meetings or via email. Whilst assistance at our State Competitions is always welcomed, this is not an essential requirement for these positions.
Experience in athletics is not essential, however an understanding of the operations of a not-for-profit organisations within community sport would be advantageous.
Anyone with skills in the areas of Finance, Marketing, Business Management or Risk Management is particularly encouraged to nominate for a position.

Please note, Little Athletics Tasmania, as per it’s Constitution, will strive for Gender Diversity with a minimum of 40% diversity. The Tasmanian Government has also advised that all State Sporting Association Boards must meet the 40% gender balance to be eligible for any funding grants from 2021. If the 40% gender diversity is not met, Little Athletics Tasmania will not be eligible for any State government grants or funding. Due to this requirement and the makeup of the current Board members, Little Athletics Tasmania strongly encourages nominations from women to fill the casual vacancies.
