Pauls participation in Little Athletics commenced when his children joined the Huon Valley Little Athletics Centre. Paul served on the Huon Valley Centre Committee for 14 years, holding the position of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Education Officer, Development Officer and Coach. Paul was awarded Life Membership of the Huon Valley Little Athletics Centre and remains a committed volunteer for the Centre.

Paul established and continues to organise the Southern Cross-Country competition for Little Athletics Tasmania, which has been running for the past 16 years. In this role, Paul creates the event calendar each season, sources suitable courses, manages the registrations of athletes for events and conducts all events on the Southern Cross-Country calendar, including the southern regional championships and assisting with the State XC Championships.

Paul has attended the U12/U13 Coaching Camps as a coach & hut parent on 11 occasions, staying for the full duration each year, and has volunteered to coach the State Team the same number of times.

Paul has served on the LATas Board since 2019, taking on the portfolios of Education, Development, Coaching & Technical Requirements, and has represented LATas on the National Technical Committee during his time on the Board. Since joining the Little Athletics Tasmania Board, Paul has worked closely with the Development Officer in organising pre-season Come & Try Days, various Coaching clinics and taking in a mentor role to assist with planning and productivity.

Paul received a State Service Award in 2016, and we were delighted to present him with a Distinguished Service Award in 2022.
