LATas U14 & U15 State Team Information
Season 2023-24
Team Size
- U14 Age Group – The Under 14 team will consist of up to 56 athletes, 28 boys and 28 girls. The U14 Multi-Class team will consist of up to 16 athletes. U14 athletes can compete in a maximum of 6 events.
- U15 Age Group – The Under 15 team will consist of up to 56 athletes, 28 boys and 28 girls. U15 athletes can compete in a maximum of 6 events.
Eligibility
Athletes must be a registered financial competitive member in the correct age group prior to registration via the portal.
Team announcement
The State Team will be announced as soon as possible following the completion of competition at the State Individual Championships.
The State Team Selection Panel’s decision on the Team Membership will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Commitment
As part of the State Team, ALL athletes selected are required to show their COMMITMENT to Team functions and competition training.
Team Levy
The State Team levy for 2024 is $80.00. This levy does not include State Team uniform, which must be purchased separately. This Levy is the sole responsibility of the parent, however assistance may be given by the athlete’s Centre, Local Council or community. The payment is due in full by 31st March 2023. If payment is not made in full or no acceptable arrangements made, the athlete may be withdrawn from the team. Contact the Little Athletics Tasmania Office if this is an issue for you.
Team Travel & Accommodation
Selected athletes are responsible for arranging their own airfares, accommodation, transport, and meals whilst in Adelaide.
Team Experience
During ALAC, all U14 and U15 athletes are required to participate in all activities including Teams Welcome & Track Familiarisation, Opening Ceremony & Closing Ceremony, badge swap and Team Chants
Tasmanian State Team Member Commitments
Athletes selected for Tasmania must be prepared to:
- Be a part of a team and follow any instructions given by Team Management;
- Be punctual at all times;
- Attend each day listed in the itinerary.
Parents/Guardians of selected athletes must be prepared to:
- Pay the team levy;
- Make selected athletes available to attend every activity as listed in the itinerary, unless prior approval by the State Team Management;
- Entrust the care and responsibility of your child to the Team Management at all team activities and especially at the Australian Little Athletic Championships.
